Frequently Asked Questions - JSON Styler

Frequently Asked Questions

Does my JSON leave my browser?

For browser tools, no. Formatting, validation, conversion, and diffing run in your browser, and tool input/output is not sent to our servers for processing. We do not require sign-in and we do not store browser-tool input/output data.

Does this site use cookies or tracking technologies?

We may use cookies and similar technologies for site operation and advertising through Google AdSense. See Privacy Policy for details.

Will I see a consent banner?

Yes, in regions where consent is required, we will present a consent banner before personalized ads are served.

Can I use this site for free?

Yes. JSON Styler tools are free to use.

Why is JSON Styler lightweight and fast?

The site is built as static pages with Astro, and tool operations run in your browser without server-side processing for formatting, validation, conversion, or diffing. This keeps runtime overhead low and interactions responsive.

What is the maximum file size supported?

There is no fixed hard limit set by JSON Styler. Practical limits depend on your browser memory and device performance. Most modern setups handle typical developer payloads smoothly.

How does the JSON validator work?

The validator checks your input against standard JSON syntax rules and reports parsing issues with location details so you can fix errors quickly.

Which tools are available?

JSON Styler includes JSON Formatter, Validator, Minifier, Diff, JSON to CSV, and JSON to YAML.

Which tool should I use for what?

Use JSON Formatter for readability, JSON Validator for syntax checks, JSON Minifier for compact payloads, JSON Diff for change review, JSON to CSV for spreadsheet workflows, and JSON to YAML for configuration files.

Is there a public API?

Yes. JSON Styler provides a public edge API at api.json-formatter-online.com with an overview at /api. Preferred routes are versioned under /api/v1/*, with compatibility aliases under /api/*. See OpenAPI for the contract, rate limits, and integration notes. API requests are processed in-memory at the edge; operational telemetry is metadata-only in normal operation. Pages on this site still run tool processing in your browser unless you call the API.

Do I need an account to use the tools?

No. You can use all tools without creating an account or signing in.
